Themes and Activities

Our 2010 Summer Camp Theme will take us “80 days Around the World”. Every week we will tour different countries and cross over Continents! As we visit these places we will play their national games, sample their most popular ethnic foods, and simply enjoy cultural diversity in all aspects of arts and crafts!

June:

We will start our journey touring the old streets and countryside of Mexico, then return to the USA to celebrate our nation's birthday with a big bang!

July:

We’ll cool off as we continue our journey to the Great White North where we may spot a few polar bears, help engineer an igloo, or catch the Trans-Siberian Railway. We'll take a quick peek at our Antarctic friends (so that they don't feel left out in the cold) to watch some marching penguins. We'll go on to the experience the 101 Building in Taiwan, marvel at the Great Wall of China and travel to the third forgotten wonder of the world - the Taj Mahal!

August:

We’ll go off to monkey around the amazing Jungles of Africa and snake through Rain forests of Brazil for a week and then tour the romantic sights of France. We will conclude our expedition with a visit to Italy to enjoy soccer and pizza and great sights, and finally to Great Britain the land of knights, castles, dragons and mysteries.

Field Trips

Besides swimming everyday in our heated in ground pool we have planned trips to ice skate, mini golf, local parks, a cruise on the Potomac, and to places like the D.C. Children's Museum, the Water Mine, and the National Zoo.
